About Ranger assignment grade

News Photo 1 folks,
It seems that I have forgotten last week to record the Ranger assignment critique grades in your report card before I returned the critique to you. Please check with me your current grade records on your Ranger assignment today after the Friday meeting.

Taking flight

I know I already submitted a photo for this weeks assignment, but I really like this image.  Shot at the Mission Reach area of the San Antonio River.

It's for the birds.

About assignment and quiz

Exposure (using manual exposure) assignment is due Wed.
The assignment AV/TV effect is canceled.
Quiz on basics (everything from week 1- 5, including all readings) will be quizzed next Monday.

We skipped an assignment and delayed the quiz to make your life easier. I expect a better result.

Act before it is too late!

Feb. is coming to an end in a few days. You need 3 Ranger assignments in this month. Otherwise, some assignments you do in March will be fall back to Feb. account and you will be counted as late and 20% penalty will be applied. Furthermore, even if you did many assignments but if you do not turn in any Ranger self-critique, you will receive no grade. All critiques need to be turn in within one week counting from the day you shot the assignment, late critique will also receive a 20% penalty.

Incoming!

Shadowing assingment is due 2/14 Friday before 1 p.m.

Shadowing assignment is due 2/14 Friday before 1 p.m.

There is a "shadow" folder ready for you in the server. I want the imaginary cutline on that day too.

Read LG "Exposure" chapter. Quiz on "Truth" Ch.5 next Wed.

Applause!

Sorry. I pull up the Ranger Online Wed. morning and meant to show the frontpage photo taken by our classmate Siobhan but I forgot. She was the first to finish the Rodeo photo cutline and we decided the photo was a good reminder to our readers that the Rodeo is happening. Let's give Siobhan a round of applause and congratulate her when you see her on Friday. There will be more good Rodeo photos showing on our printed version on Friday. Good job!

Next week's blog posting

Hmm ... We are going to be artsy a little bit this time, but still, it has to be real and honest. No set ups.

Identifiable Shadow

Your job is to find a scene that have a shadow clearly cast on a surface. The condition is that the shadow has to be a clearly identifiable object. That means it would be a shadow of a human or part of a human body, or animal, or plant, or a bicycle wheel, or a glass of water ... Rule of thumb is the viewers know what the object of the shadow is without even seeing it.

Chillin' while walking at Wal-Mart

Cold weather

This is just wrong! I have ice on my windshield this morning but I am talking southern Texas here. I thought I have said goodbye to Missouri and Ohio's winter years ago! How further south can I go!
